Million Brings RRUFF, Inc. Pets Second Chance
PETCO and the PETCO Foundation recently concluded the annual Spring A Pet fundraiser raising nearly $1.7 million to benefit animal organizations nationwide including RRUFF, Inc.
“We are so proud to distribute monies collected each year from our Spring A Pet campaign to organizations, like RRUF, Inc. that dedicate their resources to helping animals.” Says PETCO Foundation Vice President and Director Paul Jolly. “During the fundraiser, each PETCO store selected an adoption group that celebrates the human-animal bond and collected donations on their behalf.”
This year, RRUFF, Inc partnered with the PETCO stores at Torrington, CT and Natick, MA.
Local proceeds from Spring A Pet 2007 will be used by RRUFF, Inc. in order to provide the dogs in the program with the necessary medical care and supplies needed to nurture them until appropriate homes can be found. “Without the continued support of funds received from the PETCO Foundation we would not be able to continue to rescue Rottweilers in need. Along with the PETCO Foundation, we look forward to not only saving many more Rottweilers and placing them in appropriate homes, but also educating the public on responsible pet ownership”, said Lisa D’Errico, Director.
PETCO encourages customers to consider adoption before the
purchase of any companion animal – even if it’s one of the birds, reptiles,
or small animals currently offered in PETCO stores.
